A Gentle Guide to Responsible TravelThe Maldives is more than a destination — it is a living, breathing paradise built upon one of the most delicate ecosystems on Earth. Our coral reefs protect our islands and nurture an incredible diversity of marine life. Preserving them is vital — not just for us, but for the generations to come.

Respecting Our Oceans

We invite every guest to join in our conservation efforts. Please avoid touching or standing on corals while snorkeling or diving, and carry back any non-biodegradable waste. Each thoughtful action helps preserve the ocean’s natural rhythm and beauty.

Culture & Modesty

The Maldives is a Muslim country, where customs are rooted in respect and modesty. While swimwear is welcome in resorts and designated beaches, modest clothing is encouraged when visiting local islands. Topless sunbathing is strictly prohibited.

Customs & Prohibited Items

Bringing alcohol, firearms, illegal drugs, pornography, pork products, or idols of worship into the Maldives is prohibited. Alcohol purchased at duty-free will be safely stored by Maldives Customs and returned to you before departure.

Medications & Drones

Over-the-counter medicines may be carried for personal use. Controlled substances require a valid prescription issued by a medical practitioner. If you plan to bring a drone, please confirm with your resort or guesthouse, as individual policies may vary.

Staying Connected

Local SIM cards are available at the airport, and most inhabited islands have reliable 4G coverage — allowing you to stay connected and share your Maldivian memories with ease.

The wellbeing of our guests is our utmost priority. From clean and well-maintained safari boats to hygienic accommodations, Our Maldives ensures that every journey is comfortable, safe, and peaceful. Our team follows careful safety measures so you can travel with confidence and ease.
